Lore

Remembrance of Judge Cleric, the Radiant Sentinel

A withered sunflower.

Hidden lore — revealed in game at high Radiance

There came a day when the gifted warrior-priestess Iselle decided she had been living a lie, cast off her crimson attire in disgust and swore to put an end to Adyr's rule or die in the attempt.

Corrupted Cleric's set

The presence of the Rune of Adyr poisoned the mind of the Cleric as it did so many others, but by that time hers was already a mind in which watchfulness had become paranoia, faith had become fanaticism, and strength had become ruthlessness.

The game reveals this in play at high Inferno.

Stigma visions

Stigma — Eviction

RadiantAbessand any Descrier of the Dawn found trespassing will be severely punished for their transgression.

This place is now sanctified in the name of Judge Cleric,

and no longer a sanctuary for the ignorant and misguided.

DescrierPlease, this has been our home for generations!

We've always kept our hearts open to the Hallowed Sentinels!

RadiantAbessBe grateful that by Judge Cleric's mercy you are allowed to leave with those wayward

hearts still beating. Repent, and turn to her for salvation... while you still can.

Stigma — Cleric

ClericI've tried, Ermengarde, you know that better than anyone.

I've tried for so long and in so many ways to make these people see

that what I do is what's best not just for this kingdom

but the whole world.

I know Adyr and the Rhogar better than anyone,

and they have the temerity to question me?

To condemn my actions?

(sighs)

I wonder what you'd say to me now, if you could.

I miss your wise counsel.

But your presence still brings me strength, and that's what I need now:

the strength to do what must be done.

I will protect them... even if it has to be from themselves.

Stigma — Sunflowers

ClericOrius, as you bless these flowers with your Radiance and help them flourish,

so too bless me

so I may help all of my loyal brothers and sisters flourish,

and continue to prove myself worthy of their faith.

This land has known much darkness, but together, with hope and devotion in our hearts,

we will not only stand ever-vigilant in its defence

but guide its ascent into your loving light.

Stigma — Corruption

ClericAYou look exhausted, Pieta. Do you bring any better news?

PietaI'm afraid not, My Lady. The number of those affected rises

and all my blood and our healing sorceries can do

is offer temporary relief, and little at that.

This disease is unnatural. And I believe I know why.

My Lady, I believe this corruption to be Rhogar in nature.

ClericAImpossible. The beacons stand and Adyr and the Rhogar remain imprisoned.

PietaI assure you, I've -

ClericAContinue tending to the ailing as best you can,

until you find the true cause of this malady.

I have every faith in you.

Stigma — Head

ClericALatimer, in death may you continue to shine

as the Radiant paragon you were in life,

and may your dedication to our cause be remembered evermore.

Stigma — Hands

ClericMake your cut, Ermengarde.

Damage absorption

Damage typeAbsorbsDefence
Physical 38.3% 375
Fire 24.9% 200
Holy 53.5% 695 Toughest
Wither 33.6% 305
Magic 13% 90 Weakest

Magic is spell damage. No weapon deals it — every spell does, whichever school it belongs to — so that row is how well casting works against this enemy, and the other four are what your weapon does.

Lowest absorption is where your damage goes furthest — magic here. The Defence column is the game's own stored value, on the same scale as an armour piece's absorption. The percentage is derived from it as K/(K+defence) with K = 604, a constant solved from three mitigations measured in game rather than read out of a table — so treat it as accurate to a few tenths, not exact.

The rest of this fight

One fight in two phases. The absorption swaps between them — holy-armoured first, fire-armoured second — so the damage type to bring changes halfway through.

How to hurt it

If you swing
Pierce · Fire 24.9% absorbed
If you cast
Magic 13% absorbed
Resists
Slash · Holy 53.5% absorbed

Both lines matter whichever way you play. The game gives you two hands for melee and a third slot for casting or a throwable, so most fights use both — and a cast has a wind-up that a crowd at close range will not wait through. Take the number for whatever is in your hand at the time.

Two different things in the swing lane, read together. Slash, blunt and pierce are tags — every weapon deals one of them, and they are not in the table above. The named school is from that table, and it is the lowest of the four a weapon can actually deal: magic is left out of it because no weapon deals magic.

What does not work

  • Perfect-dodge slow
  • Stagger from behind

These change the approach rather than the numbers. Immunity to Soulflay in particular means the Umbral opener you would normally lead with does nothing here.

Least effective: holy 53.5% absorbed · slash

Not a wall — it can be killed with any of these. At 53.5% absorbed you are giving up 41 percentage points against magic, which is the difference between a fight and a long fight.

Status resistance

StatusResistance
Bleed 0 Procs soonest
Poison 700
Frostbite 700
Smite 0 Procs soonest
Burn 700
Ignite 825
Wither 200 Applies on hit

These are buildup thresholds, not percentages, so they read the opposite way to absorption — a lower number procs sooner. They are comparable between enemies but not against any other figure on the site. The proc itself is a damage event that scales off your own attributes, which is why two players see different numbers from the same status.

Wither sits outside that comparison. It applies on the hit rather than building toward a threshold, so its figure is not measuring the same thing as the other six and is left out of "procs soonest" — otherwise it would win on most enemies in the game and the tag would stop telling you anything.
