Hidden lore — revealed in game at high Inferno or Radiance

As he plummeted towards the pit from which he would never emerge, the preacher who claimed to be Orius made flesh forgave the Hallowed Sentinels for their misguided actions against him and his followers.

Multipliers of what?

Of the carrier. A ×2.00 fire multiplier means twice the umbral catalyst's fire attack rating — so the same spell produces a different number on every carrier, and on every upgrade level.

The combined figure is not published yet: the multipliers are extracted, but the arithmetic joining them has not been checked against the game.

Measured in game

Hit for 406, which is its physical half exactly once the enemy's 0.75 physical resistance is applied — the Dark 40% landed on the wither bar instead and did not appear in that number. Putrid Child Catalyst +10 at spell power 541, against an Avowed in Pilgrim's Perch.

About that wither damage

Wither is deliberately kept out of the damage figure above. Wither does not take health off. It turns that portion of the bar white — still there, but held.

Land another hit before they hit you and the white converts into real damage. Let them get one in on you first and they heal it straight back. It works on you in exactly the same way, which is the whole trade: wither rewards staying on the offensive and punishes backing off.

So the figure above is what lands immediately. The wither sits on top of it, and whether you collect it is down to how the fight goes.

Confirmed in play. The game's tables carry the wither values but say nothing about how they resolve, so the behaviour here comes from watching health bars rather than from extraction.

It explodes

Travels a long way along the ground in a narrow band and can catch several enemies in a line. A long wind-up animation is the cost. Verified in game

So against a group the figure on this page is per enemy caught, not per shot. That is the trade for its cost: it is the least efficient bolt per unit of ammunition and the most efficient one against more than one target.
