Unleash a torrent of Umbral magic, inflicting wither damage and poison buildup.

Hidden lore — revealed in game at high Inferno or Radiance

For many years tales have been told of the Iron Wayfarer, a mysterious, lamp-bearing, incredibly powerful warrior who wanders lands far and wide, and who has had deeds both noble and terrible attributed to him.

Multipliers of what?

Of the carrier. A ×2.00 fire multiplier means twice the umbral catalyst's fire attack rating — so the same spell produces a different number on every carrier, and on every upgrade level.

The combined figure is not published yet: the multipliers are extracted, but the arithmetic joining them has not been checked against the game.

About that wither damage

Wither is deliberately kept out of the damage figure above. Wither does not take health off. It turns that portion of the bar white — still there, but held.

Land another hit before they hit you and the white converts into real damage. Let them get one in on you first and they heal it straight back. It works on you in exactly the same way, which is the whole trade: wither rewards staying on the offensive and punishes backing off.

This one deals nothing but wither, so on impact it removes no health at all. That is not a weakness — it is the largest number in the game once it lands — but it only pays if you follow it up.

Confirmed in play. The game's tables carry the wither values but say nothing about how they resolve, so the behaviour here comes from watching health bars rather than from extraction.

This one hits more than once

Channelled: it ticks for the figure shown for as long as you hold it and have mana, so the number is per tick rather than per cast. Mana drains continuously at 0.1 per interval rather than costing a lump sum — the drain runs faster than the damage ticks, and the ratio between them is not in the game files, so damage per mana is not published. The damage figure is per hit, not per cast — so this spell is worth considerably more than its percentage suggests next to a single-hit spell. Verified in game

We do not publish a hit count. How many times a spell ticks lives in its ability blueprint rather than in any data table, so we have no figure for it and will not invent one. Comparing percentages between two single-hit spells is fair; comparing one against a multi-hit spell will understate the second.

That drop rate looks low — is that right?

It is. Enemies that cast a spell drop it at roughly 2–3%, and for most spells that is the only way to get one — no vendor sells them. Expect to kill the same enemy dozens of times.

Rates are read from the game's loot tables, not estimated from play.
